“Candy” refers to numerous confections that are made out of sugar that has been cooked. It had always been a symbolic element of special occasions, courtship and even holidays. The taste of the candy had also been described as sweetie, sugar and honey.
Did you know the different heating and cooling levels determine the types of candy? The hot temperature produces hard candy while the medium heat s produces soft candy and the cooler temperatures make chewy candy.  
For thousands of years, humans have been chomping on the sweets. During ancient times, the preparation of sweet confections of fruit and nuts candied in honey were make by the Egyptians, Arabs and the Chinese. Sugar was traded within the Middle East region till the Crusaders founded the “sweet salt” on their conquests. On their return in the 11th century, Sugar was spread to Europe. Amazed with the exotic sweetened drinks and fruits found abroad, they created a demand when landed back home. By the 13th century, Venice was the sugar capital of the world.
